Questions, answered plainly
What incognitoink does, how billing works, and how to get help without digging through jargon.
Getting started
3 topicsWhat is incognitoink?
incognitoink is an editor that reshapes stiff or AI-shaped prose so it reads the way a careful human wrote it — same facts and intent, softer rhythm and clearer phrasing. The model learns from millions of human-written examples, not templates.
How does rewriting work?
Paste or upload text, pick a tone preset (friendly, career-grade, scholarly, etc.), and we remap sentence flow and wording to dodge obvious machine tells. Nothing is scraped from third parties mid-request; runs are modeled on offline training signals.
Can I try it without paying?
New accounts ship with starter credits so you can run real drafts through the workspace. After that, top up or subscribe — whichever fits how often you write.
Credits & billing
2 topicsHow are credits counted?
We debit one credit per word on the passage you humanize (before/after length can differ slightly; billing follows the billed span shown in-app). Credit balance lives on your dashboard after each job.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — we stand behind the product with a 7‑day satisfaction window if the plan genuinely doesn’t fit. Email hello@incognitoink.com with your receipt and context; we reply within about a business day.
Quality & output
3 topicsWhy trust the output?
Training emphasizes natural cadence over buzzwords so paragraphs feel edited, not filtered. We still iterate on the backbone model as detectors and norms shift — rerun with another preset when you want a bolder take.
Does my argument stay intact?
That’s the point. Rewrites adjust voice and micro-structure; assertions, citations, dates, and your line of reasoning should carry through unless you deliberately trim them yourself.
If a run feels off?
Preset choice matters — each mode biases formality length and pacing. Retry with a sibling preset or shorten the excerpt; support can sanity-check unusually messy sources.
Formats & limits
3 topicsWhich inputs can I upload?
Plain paste works for most people. Uploads span .txt, .docx, and .pdf; we extract readable text automatically and drop you into the same editor surfaces.
Is there a cap per request?
Per-request ceilings depend on plan tier (Starter through Ultra scale from roughly 1k–3k words per pass — exact numbers mirror what your dashboard shows once subscribed). Chunk longer pieces when needed.
Where do I ask for humans?
hello@incognitoink.com or /contact gets you a human; most threads close within about 24 hours on weekdays.
Still circling something?
Tell us where you're stuck — pricing, integrations, tone presets, whatever. Humans read every thread.
